Hotel Es Port carries out different measures to be a sustainable and environmentally friendly hotel and has obtained the international Travelife seal. Help us to be more sustainable and environmentally friendly by doing the following things:
We remind our guests to use water and energy responsibly.
Bathroom towel change: please place towels on the bathroom floor if you wish to have them changed.
The windows have an automatic sensor. If the window is opened, the air conditioning/heating stops.
Recycling: Put all non-recyclable rubbish in the bathroom bin and plastic, cardboard and glass in the room bin. Our cleaning staff will recycle these materials for you.
We are minimising the use of plastics, so we have replaced our amenities with reusable dispensers made from recycled material and selected high quality natural cosmetics. These dispensers are the property of the hotel. If you wish to purchase this product, it is available for sale at reception.
The hotel has solar panels to minimise the use of electricity.
The hotel has a grey water recycling system, purified and reused to water our gardens and organic allotment, as well as collecting rainwater and water from natural sources for the same purpose.
The hotel has a large area of olive grove land. It is looked after and maintained with traditional and organic methods and the olives are harvested to make our own virgin oil, which is used in the bars and restaurants themselves. Guests are welcome to visit this olive grove if they wish.
It also has an orange and lemon orchard and avocado trees and seasonal vegetables that are used in the hotel’s restaurants.
We make our own compost with the organic surplus and use it as compost in our allotment and olive grove.
Whenever possible and on a weekly basis, a guided tour of the hotel facilities is conducted, explaining the sustainability process carried out as well as its history.
You are in the heart of the Sierra de Tramuntana, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2011. Reception has information on a number of cultural and natural heritage sites in the surrounding area as well as places that help to interpret the local landscape and culture. We offer guided tours. Please respect the natural environment and landscape and leave it as you found it, free of rubbish and intact.
We remind you that out of respect for the local religion and culture it is not advisable to enter places of worship wearing a swimming costume, vests or a hat/cap.
The town of Sóller and the island in general has several traditional religious festivals, such as Christmas (25 December), Carnival (February), Easter (varies between March and April), the annual fair (second Sunday in May) which includes a mock battle between the locals and the Moors dating from 1561 (es firó), the patron saint festivities of the port (Sant Pere 29 June) and of Sóller (Sant Bartomeu 24 August) and the festivals of Sant Antoni on 17 January, in which bonfires are lit and local Mallorcan sausages are grilled. Each of these celebrations is associated with traditional meals and events.
