PORT OF SÓLLER’S ENVIRONMENT
Due to its location, formerly isolated by land from the rest of the island of Mallorca, the Port de Sóller has a seafaring tradition. Today it lives on and coexists with the big sailing ships and tourist yachts that currently cover the waters of the island of Mallorca.

Excursions depart from its dock to discover all the charms of the Serra de Tramuntana coast. Among them, the well-known excursions to Torrent de Pareis and Sa Calobra. The bay is a perfect enclave to navigate or practice lots of water sports.
If hiking is your thing, you can find a lot of routes in the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You can also enjoy beautiful walks to unique places such as the ancient defense tower Sa Torre Picada, dating from the sixteenth century. You can also walk to the lighthouse of Sa Creu, an old lighthouse over 150 years old, together with the current one, very original painted in black and white that goes well with the environment.
If you visit the Port de Sóller you must take a ride on the train. It works since 1913 and has an aesthetic very similar to the famous streetcars of San Francisco. It connects the Port with the town of Sóller throughout the day (you can check their schedules here).
WE GO TO THE BEACH!
In Port de Sóller you can find 2 urban beaches, one on each side of the bay, which delight tourists and also the residents of the area.
The most popular of these is the Platja d’en Repic, with a length of 270 meters, located in the Paseo Marítimo de Port de Sóller, in its pedestrian part. With sand and small gravel stones it is ideal to spend an afternoon on the beach that can be topped off with a night of leisure in the restaurants and places that are located by the promenade next to the beach.
The Platja des Traves is larger and is located next to the port, traveled by vehicles and the famous tram.

After enjoying the beaches that Port de Sóller offers us, we can take a walk along its promenade and its surroundings where we find lots of bars and restaurants with large terraces where you can enjoy the good weather of the island of Mallorca.
